Sunday, July 25, 2010.  We were happy to host the wedding of Steven McKnight and Taysha Metzger on a perfect Sedona summer day at Poco Diablo. With monsoonal weather threatening throughout the weekend, Sunday turned out to be a perfectly wonderful day with clear sunny skies.

The theme of the wedding was Pink and it showed throughout the event. All the groomsmen wore pink vests and Taysha’s lovely bridal gown was highlighted with pink lace.

Saturday, July 10, 2010.  We were pleased to host the romantic wedding of Monica Celaya and Guillermo Valenzuela at Poco Diablo Resort in Sedona, Arizona.  While they were planning their event, Monica and her mother were very concerned about having a wedding here in Arizona in July.

Sedona was the perfect solution to the heat concern. With an elevation of nearly 5,000 feet, the summers in Sedona tend to be cooler than the Phoenix area. This was true on the day of Monica and Guillermo’s wedding. Cloud cover helped with the sun and heat and guests enjoyed an intimate ceremony at the Golf Course Gazebo.

Poco Diablo Resort was fortunate to host two wonderful weddings on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Our late evening wedding ceremony was the remarriage of Chip Haupt and Joy McKee.   Joy and Chip got married the first time in the 70’s and while they were both active in the U.S. Military, they lost contact with each other and, due to a misunderstanding, the couple got divorced.  Throughout the years, Joy and Chip built new lives for themselves and starting families but lost their spouses.  Chip never stoopped loving Joy and thought he would send he a note to see how she was doing all these years.  The couple reconnected and the love they shared from their first wedding carried throughout the years and they were lucky to get a second chance to be together.

The wedding took place at the intimate Gazebo on the golf course and the ceremony was performed by Kate Freeman with Dream Weddings of Sedona. Joy and Chip hired Janise Witt, Photography by Janise Witt, who captured the loving moments of their wedding.  Joy and Chip shared their lovely wedding with their family and their happiness shows.
