Friday, November 12, 2010. We enjoyed hosting the intimate wedding of Debbie Welman and Ray Giachetti who traveled all the way from Chicago to hold their destination wedding in Sedona. Poco Diablo Resort has a close connection with the great city of Chicago as many of our bridal couples originate from the Windy City. We enjoy working with Midwesterners that enjoy a taste of the Southwest, and Sedona is the best place to get the flavor of Arizona.
The wedding ceremony was performed beneath our majestic weeping willow tree in front of the Golf Course Gazebo by Rev. Andrew Murphy, Heart of Sedona Weddings. There were memorial candles included in the marriage ceremony adding a very personal touch to their wedding vows. The intimate guest list included Ray’s parents Mary and Nick who have been married for 51 years and live in Presoctt. Ray’s brother Michael, traveled all the way from Italy to participate in their wedding.
Debbie was accompanied by her mother Janet as she proceeded to the gazebo. Ray was patiently waiting for his bride as Janise Witt captured the special moments photographically. Marie Rhines performed lovely music by violin both prior to and during the ceremony. Her music was enjoyed by all.
Following the ceremony and wedding portraits, guests proceeded to the Sedona Room where they enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Felipe. Our Banquet Captain, Javier, was happy to take care of our wedding guests throughout the evening. Marie Rhines also performed during dinner and the setting could not be more perfect.
Plated dinner choices:
Grilled New York Sirloin, Caramelized Shallots and Merlot Butters with Onion Straws
OR
Chicken Breast Stuffed with Boursin Cheese, Baby Spinach and Sundried Tomatoes and Roasted Red Pepper Sauce
Each Served with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Assorted Vegetables
Following dinner, guests danced to a variety of music on the Canopy Patio and everyone enjoyed the evening. When Debbie and Ray first visited Poco Diablo planning their wedding, we felt that November was so far away and then, the next thing we knew, their wedding date was here. We really enjoyed helping Debbie and Ray plan their perfect day and we wish them the best of luck for their future together.
