Nancy Poissant and Ron Starkey

Nancy Poissant and Ron Starkey

Poco Diablo Resort, Sedona, Arizona. We are happy to introduce you to some of our 2011 bridal couples. Our Catering Sales Manager, Jill Kyriakopulos, enjoys working with each and every one of our couples. We love to host weddings at Poco Diablo Resort and it shows by our friendly and efficient service. Many of our bridal couples have come to the resort for their formal tasting, meeting with our experienced Chef, Felipe Felix, who enjoys creating a delicious meal for our guests.

In addition to our banquet staff, our front desk staff and concierge is always available to assist in any way they can. Our restaurant is open daily serving breakfast, lunch and dinner for our hotel guests and visitors. Everyone at Poco Diablo is patiently awaiting our bridal couples and their special event planned for 2011.

Nancy Poissant and Ron Starkey chose Poco Diablo Resort for their wedding because they had attending a wedding here for one of their dear friends and really loved the property. We were so happy that we were available for their wedding date of Saturday, March 12, 2011. Following their golf course wedding ceremony, the Poco Diablo Ballroom will host their wedding reception. Nancy is an Advisor Conversion Consultant at Charles Schwab and has been with the company for many years. They enjoy the outdoors and Ron proposed to Nancy while they were on a romantic cruise.

At the end of April, we are excited to host the commitment ceremony of Kadecia Williams and Audra Ber. The wedding will take place on April 30, 2011 on the Poco Diablo golf course. Kadecia and Audra met in the Windy City of Chicago and then lived in San Francisco before moving to Phoenix.  They are very busy with their jobs but have been working hard on the wedding plans.  Kadecia and Audra came up last month for their dinner tasting and enjoyed the variety of food offered to them.  Soon we will all be celebrating their special event.

Treva Roy and Matthew Enga will hold their wedding on Monday, May 9, 2011. Treva said the resort “is perfect in every way” and we were thrilled that they decided to allow Poco Diablo Resort to host their wedding.  Following the wedding ceremony on the golf course, their intimate wedding reception will take place on the Rose Terrace. This lovely area is lined with rose blossoms adjacent to a flowing pond. Treva and Matthew decided to avoid the busy weekends in Sedona and will be getting married on a Monday in May.

Kassie Kelley and Steve Baniewicz

Kassie Kelley and Steve Baniewicz are getting married on Sunday, May 29th. They liked the Memorial Day Weekend so many of their friends and family members would enjoy the extra long weekend and help them celebrate their wedding. Kassie and Steve are planning on visiting Sedona next month to attend the Sedona Bridal Fair here at Poco Diablo.  I will be so happy to see them again and hope they are able to book all of their wedding vendors at the Fair.

Paul and Rachel

Paul and Rachel

Rachel and Paul live in Chicago and visit Sedona frequently as Paul’s father and stepmother live in Sedona. In fact, Paul’s father is a Poco Diablo Country Club member, and he recommended our resort to Paul and Rachel. They came out for a visit and the next thing you know, we are confirmed to host their wedding here in June. We are so glad they decided to have their wedding with us and we’re happy to get to know them both. In fact, Rachel will be visiting Sedona next month with her mother to make more wedding plans with her vendors. We will be hosting Rachel, her mother, and Paul’s parents for their tasting in the restaurant and they will get a chance to meet Chef Felipe. We can’t wait until Rachel and Paul’s wedding with us.

Jamie Sisemore and Brad Lance

Jamie Sisemore and Brad Lance

Jamie Sisemore and Brad Lance will be getting married at the end of June at Poco Diablo Resort. Jamie and Brad really lilked the Golf Course Gazebo and since they are getting just after the longest day of the year, they will enjoy plenty of sunshine for their photographs. Jamie just purchased her wedding dress two weeks ago and is so excited! Brad and Jamie will be making a few more trips up to Sedona to make more wedding plans.

This is just a few of the lovely bridal couples having their wedding at Poco Diablo. Stay tuned for coverage of each and every one of their weddings here on the Poco Diablo Wedding blog.

Poco Diablo Resort is situated on 22 acres with eight acres of lush landscaping, manicured golf fairways, tranquil ponds, cool streams, green willows and pines.  The perfect setting for your intimate Sedona wedding. One of our favorite photographers, Pamela Duffy, captured wonderful moments from Ron and Taye’s wedding here at Poco.  There was so much love and happiness in celebration of their wedding in Sedona and their delight is evident in the photographs.

The intimate wedding ceremony took place at the Golf Course Gazebo followed by a delicious brunch on the Canopy Patio. Flowers were provided by Bliss Extraordinary Floral and their cake was created by Donna Joy, Sedona Sweet Arts. Brian David performed his magical guitar for both the wedding ceremony and reception. We enjoyed the company of Ron and Taye and their entire family and we hope they return to Poco Diablo Resort very soon.

Poco Diablo Resort loves to host weddings.  We have been holding intimate Sedona weddings here since 1980 and everyone in the Poco Diablo family enjoys them. Weddings are a special time for the bride and groom along with their family members and friends. It is an experience you will remember forever and a Poco Diablo wedding will be enjoyed by everyone. The lovely golf course offers green grass, large trees, ponds and streams, red rock views and the surrounding hills and vistas are inspiring.

One of our favorite experiences when hosting weddings at Poco is witnessing a variety of flower girls and ring bearers attending our weddings. You will see such cute dresses, suits, accessories, baskets, flowers and jewelry worn by a variety of children. Many times the flower girl is a daughter of the bride and groom or a dear niece. The innocence offered by these young adults are refreshing and all of the guests really enjoy their company. Each one of them tries so hard to help out with wedding duties – it is wonderful.

Creative artwork from a number of professional florists have decorated the gazebo throughout the years. You will enjoy the lovely floral arrangements that have decorated a variety of wedding ceremonies we have hosted here at Poco Diablo Resort.

Although we have colorful rose bushes blooming throughout the year, many couples choose to add decor to the wedding gazebo.  Sometimes they add wedding garland or wedding bows as well.
