The lovely wedding ceremony of Nicole and Preston

The lovely wedding ceremony of Nicole and Preston

Saturday, March 24, 2012. On a gorgeous Sedona day, Nicole and Preston held their lovely wedding at the golf course gazebo at Poco Diablo Resort. The Arizona sun was shinning brightly as Nicole walked down the aisle in her elegant princess wedding gown. We absolutely loved her wedding dress and Nicole was so beautiful. Preston watched on as his lovely bride was approaching the gazebo.

The wedding ceremony was performed by Maria Grace, Two Hearts One Life Weddings, and the setting was very quaint. Harpist Oman Ken did a wonderful job performing their ceremony music. The lovely bridal bouquet was provided by the Jazz Bouquet in West Sedona. There were so many thoughtful details included with their special wedding.

Following the ceremony, guests proceeded to the Canopy Patio for a special wedding brunch created by Chef Felipe Felix and his talented staff. There were delicious entrees added to the buffet that included Chicken Breast with Sliced Apples and Wild Mushrooms along with Beef Tenderloin Tips in Tomatillo Salsa. The Canopy Patio looked wonderful with all the floral centerpieces and wedding decor. We simply loved it!

One of the highlights of the wedding was the elegant wedding cake created by Donna Joy with Sedona Sweet Arts. The delicious chocolate cake was topped by a lovely B and had creative hand designed pink floral scrolls on fresh butter cream frosting. Everyone had a wonderful time and the bride and groom were so happy. We were thrilled to host this wonderful wedding and wish Preston and Nicole many years of wedding bliss. We hope they will return to Poco Diablo Resort for a visit in the very near future.

Ceremony of Kenny and Becky

Ceremony of Kenny and Becky

Friday, March 23, 2012. We enjoyed hosting the wedding of Kenny and Becky today at Poco Diablo Resort. You could not have asked for a nicer day with sunny skies and warmer temperatures. A welcome change from the 10 inches of snow we had earlier in the week. The warm Arizona sun melted all the snow and the golf course looked amazing. The trees are filling out and flowering with a Spring flavor. Poco sure looks beautiful and the perfect venue to host a wedding.

We had met Kenny and Becky on one of their trips up from Tucson and they are a delight. Becky knew exactly how she wanted her wedding to take place and everything worked out well. Photographer Janise Witt helped make their wedding special with her wonderful talent and officiant Ken Froessel performed the intimate wedding ceremony in front of their family and friends. You could not have asked for a more beautiful ceremony. Bliss Extraordinary Floral decorated the gazebo with an elegant floral arrangement and the colorful dresses worn by the bridesmaids blended in perfectly.

Following the ceremony, guests proceed to the Canopy Patio where a delicious brunch was waiting, along with the special Mimosa Bar. The tables looked lovely with succulent plants arranged with style by a friend of theirs. The personalized hand written place “rocks” were a nice touch to their Sedona wedding.

We absolutely loved the creative cake made by Donna Joy with Sedona Sweet Arts. The handmade flowers were unique and matched perfectly with the decor. The delicious carrot cake was enjoyed by all the guests and the top tier went home with the couple to enjoy on their one year anniversary.

We were so happy that Kenny and Becky enjoyed a wonderful day here in Sedona. Following their wedding, the entire group went on a hummer tour to enjoy the beauty that Sedona has to offer. It was a wedding that will be remembered for years to come.

Winter has arrived at Poco Diablo Resort

Winter has arrived at Poco Diablo Resort

March 19, 2012.  Sedona has experienced two days of winter like weather and many of our visitors have been very surprised by the cool temperatures and precipitation. Although people on Spring break may have wished for sunny and warm temperatures, they are very lucky to see the red rocks of Sedona coated in snow. There is so much natural beauty in Sedona and not too many people get the opportunity to see the winter wonderland of Sedona covered with snow.

Poco Diablo is happy that the weather will clear up since we are hosting two weddings this weekend. Each couple should experience green grass, sunny skies and the brightness of Sedona’s red rocks without snow!

As everyone knows, there are many details couples have to work out when they decide to tie the knot. One thing many wedding couples do not think about are the legal changes that affect their taxes. In reading the local Sedona Newspaper Red Rock News, we came across an interesting article written to assist newly married couples with some tax information that we would like to share with you.

This information in helpful and brings to light many things that you may not think about during the excitement of your wedding. As Income Tax day approaches, Americans are preparing their tax forms and will hopefully receive their tax rebates… just in time to help pay for their wedding in Sedona.
