Jason and Marissa

Jason and Marissa

Saturday, October 6, 2012. On a pleasant Saturday in Sedona, Poco Diablo Resort was excited to host the wedding ceremony and reception of Jason and Marissa. Their wedding was arranged with us back in November 2011 and we have enjoyed working with Marissa and Jason throughout the months leading up to their special day. Marissa seemed to know exactly how she wanted to plan her wedding and I must say, she did an outstanding job. Every detail was attended to and the wedding was perfect.

The personal touches created for the wedding were so creative. We loved the sign posted on the golf course with the perfect saying “happily ever after starts here“. Guests enjoyed red rock views throughout the wedding ceremony. Brian David performed classical guitar at the ceremony site while the bridal party approached. We loved the colors of the flowers and bridesmaids dresses.

Guests proceeded to the Poco Diablo Ballroom for cocktails and appetizers while the bridal party remained on the golf course for wedding portraits. The weather was perfect and the sun was starting to set. We all love Sedona so much during this time of year.

The lovely decorations were created by Marissa and Jason’s family and friends. They did a wonderful job and we really loved the centerpieces. Guests enjoyed a delicious dinner prepared by Chef Corey Shoemaker and his staff. There were personalized menus on each guest table; this and so many other items added such an elegance to the wedding. We loved the personal signage that was made for the event. Many personal touches with much creativity.

October is the perfect time for a Sedona wedding and Jim and Rachel’s wedding on Friday, October 5th started off our busy wedding weekend here at Poco Diablo Resort. When Jim and Rachel first started planning their wedding, they thought it would be a very small wedding, but as the planning went on, more guests were added to the guest list and there were more people to enjoy their celebration. Their intimate wedding ceremony took place on the golf course with lovely views of Elephant Rock. The setting was delightful with elegant flowers arranged by Mountain High Flowers dressing the ceremony chairs. A very personal sand ceremony was part of their charming wedding ceremony.

When talking about weddings, it is popular to highlight the bride with comments like “it’s all about the bride.” Many times the groom is overlooked and sometimes in the background. The wedding day is just as special for the groom and we have been lucky to get to know a number of happy grooms here at Poco Diablo Resort. We have experienced grooms actually doing more of the planning and in some cases, doing all the wedding planning. In the 21st century, things are a bit different. The wedding day is special for both the bride and groom and we would like to highlight some of our bridegrooms here at Poco.
