Each year we present weddings from various locations including New York, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. This summer we were excited to attend Jennifer and Patrick’s lovely wedding in the Chicagoland Area. It is interesting to see certain wedding trends each year and many similarities to weddings here in Sedona. The main object of each and every wedding is to celebrate the union of two people that love each other and this wedding was the perfect example of the love they shared.
The bridal party prepared for the special day at the Karena’s Salon in Elgin, IL. The entire bridal party along with the mother of the bride and the aunt of the bride had their hair and make-up done while drinking champagne and enjoying breakfast treats in the salon. There was even time before the wedding ceremony for everyone to enjoy a lunch buffet while they were getting into their gowns.
The wedding ceremony was held in the lovely courtyard at the Riverside Receptions in Geneva, IL. The courtyard was quaint with lovely flowers all around. The ceremony incorporated a sand ceremony representing the lives of Jennifer and Patrick. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the lower level with lovely views of the Fox river. The venue offered guests both indoor and outdoor views of the area. The weather was cool and sunny, a real treat for August in Chicago.
Dinner was held on the upper level of the Riverside Receptions with extra room for the 140 guests attending the wedding. A delicious dinner was served followed by the creative wedding cake created by The Cakery in North Aurora. The four tiered wedding cake reflected the “Fishing” theme that was prevalent throughout the wedding. We loved all the wedding decor on display with so many personal photographs. Jennifer and Patrick got married on the Anniversary of Jennifer’s parents and grandparents. It was a special day with fond memories of family and friends.
A second cake was placed on the amazing candy table that represented the weddings of Jennifer’s parents and grandparents. Following dinner, wedding guests danced throughout the night and really had a fun time. What a wonderful wedding in Chicago and we were thrilled to be part of it. Now the bride and groom are off to St. Lucia. What a spectacular location for a romantic honeymoon. Congratulations to Patrick and Jennifer and we wish you many happy years together.
